The Rape Illusion

As I have pointed out on numerous occasions, the evidence from a number of sources suggests that the vast majority of rape allegations made to the police in western countries are false.

The official research which suggests otherwise is so full of holes and carefully planned biases that it is quite clear that those involved in the research have bent over backwards to distort their findings in order to engender the illusion that false allegations are relatively uncommon.

Indeed, the official research is worse than just 'biased', it is almost completely fabricated.

And if one takes into account all the evidence relating to rape that is available from many different sources, it becomes fairly obvious that the false allegation rate is extremely high - in my view, close to 80%.

However, there remains a strong resistance among people to accepting this point of view, and it is this particular resistance that I wish to address here.

This resistance seems to stem mostly from the fact that the vast majority of women whom people know are decent human beings - most of the time - and when you tell such people that 80% of rape allegations are false, they think about the women whom they know and they think, "There is no way that most of the women whom I know would lie about rape."

And I am sure that they are totally correct in thinking this.

The majority of women would, indeed, not make a false allegation of rape.

The majority of women would, indeed, not make a false allegation of rape.

But what seems to happen is that people become confused in their minds, and they think that if some 80% of rape allegations are false then it follows that some 80% of women must be prone to making false allegations - and this, they do not accept.

But to suggest that 80% of rape allegations are false is not to suggest that 80% of women would make false allegations.

The false allegation rate, on its own, has precious little to say about the number of women who would make false allegations.

For example, imagine that 100 rape allegations are made to the police throughout the year in the USA and, further, that every single one of them turns out to be false.

Well, we have a 100% false allegation rate.

Every woman who made an allegation has lied.

But there are some 120 million women living in the USA, and so the percentage of women making false allegations (in this case, 100 women) is absolutely miniscule - less than one-thousandth of a percent of the total population of women.

Thus, an extremely high false allegation rate (in this case, 100%) does not imply that a large percentage of women are making false allegations.

It simply means that a high percentage of those women who are making allegations are making false ones.

Now, here in the UK, we have some 15,000 rape allegations made to the police every year.

the evidence suggests that some 80% of these allegations are false

As far as I am concerned, the evidence suggests that some 80% of these allegations are false, which means that some 12,000 of these allegations are false. (Indeed, 95% of these allegations do not result in any convictions.)

Now, given that some 24 million women live in the UK, the fact that some 12,000 of them are making false allegations means that some 0.05% of women are making false allegations - which is a very tiny fraction of the whole population of women.

Indeed, at this rate, this would only amount to 1% of women making false allegations over a twenty-year period.

In other words, the view that some 80% of rape allegations are false in the UK does not imply that some 80% of women would make false allegations. It simply suggests that some 1% of women are making false rape allegations over a twenty-year period.

Is this really so hard to believe given the numerous incentives that are offered to all women who make false allegations?

Is this really so hard to believe given the daily bombardment from the media urging women to feel abused and to allege abuse by men?

Is this really so hard to believe given the fact that some 5% of women are also seriously impaired emotionally in one way or other - with unprovoked hysteria and aggression being fairly commonplace among such women.

And what about the effects of hormones, alcohol, drugs, anger, jealousy, misunderstanding, sheer wickedness?

Surely, it is very easy to believe that some 1% of women might make a false allegation over a twenty-year period.

are our women so angelic

Or are our women so angelic that, despite all the incentives, despite the constant urging, and despite the fact that many are emotionally impaired, it is still actually unthinkable that over a twenty-year period some 1% might stumble into making a false allegation of rape?

Indeed, such a low figure would also, in fact, demonstrate just how resilient are UK women to succumbing to the numerous temptations to make a false allegation.

After all, only 1% of them will succumb over a twenty-year period.

And I do not think that it would be unfair to suggest that these particular women would likely be the most malicious, the most uncaring, the most manipulative, the most dishonest and/or the most emotionally aggressive of all the women who dwell amongst us.

And there are, indeed, quite a few women with such characteristics. More than 1% of women would be my guess.

Nevertheless, 99% of the entire population of UK women will resist all the incentives and all the temptations to make a false allegation throughout this very long time of twenty years.

99% !!!

Not bad.

Not bad at all - given all the ups and downs that life brings them.

But the assumed false allegation rate which gave us this most heartening result and which demonstrated just how wonderful are our women is, in fact, 80%.

the claim that 80% of rape allegations are false does not cast aspersions on the vast majority of women.

In summary, therefore, the claim that 80% of rape allegations are false does not cast aspersions on the vast majority of women. It simply implies that a very tiny percentage of women are swamping the system with false allegations of rape; leaving genuine victims struggling to be believed.

And all the valid evidence that I have ever seen is consistent with this view.

In conclusion: Even if just 1% of UK women make a false allegation of rape over a twenty year period, then this will be sufficient to maintain a whopping 80% false allegation rate throughout the 20 years. And this appalling state of affairs can exist even if 99% of women are as good, and as honest, as a newborn babe.

In other words, a 80% false allegation rate can easily be maintained even if 99% of women would not make a false allegation.

Which is more credible?

Using UK figures ...

Some 15,000 rape allegations are made to the police every year.

An 80% false allegation rate would imply that some 12,000 of these women are making false allegations every year.

However, the latest official view is that only some 10% of allegations are false and that only 10% of rapes get reported.

Thus, the official view is that there are 13,500 genuine rapes that are reported every year (with 1,500 extra being false allegations) and that there are 135,000 rapes every year - of which only 10% get reported; i.e. the 13,500.

Question: Which is more credible?

1. That 135,000 women are raped every year.

OR

2. That 12,000 women make false allegations every year - i.e. an 80% false allegation rate.

Men Should Not Complain
About False Allegations

I often receive emails from women complaining about the fact that I dare to suggest that false allegations of rape are nowadays large in number - and that thousands of false rape allegations are made every year by women who are simply seeking some kind of revenge or reward.

And these emails annoy me, because the women who write them clearly have no concern at all for any men who are falsely accused and, almost as bad, their argument is that men should not even discuss openly the issue of false allegations against them!

And this is the mindset that most western women seem to have these days.

Every woman who makes an allegation should be believed. Every man who is accused should be railroaded ...

Every woman who makes an allegation should be believed. Every man who is accused should be railroaded through a thoroughly prejudiced legal system. No man should complain about false allegations. Even false accusers must be hidden from public view.

Grrr!

This view that people should not even talk about false allegations of rape made against men so that "genuine women victims of rape are more likely to be believed" is very widespread. Indeed, numerous women's victim groups - and thousands of women - ceaselessly lobby the media and the authorities in order to persuade them never to talk about false allegations.

And this is why, over the past two decades, even police officers dare not talk about such things.

Indeed, I do not think that I have ever heard a UK police officer or a UK politician publically talk about false accusations when discussing the issues surrounding 'rape'.

Indeed, groups like the NSPCC and the BBC are forever lobbying and trying to dissuade program makers from mentioning the existence of false allegations even in fictional programs; e.g. see The NSPCC Needs To Be Stopped.

The idea is to continually inject into people's minds the notion that all accusers are always telling the truth - whereas, in fact, these days, the evidence suggests very strongly that most of them are not.

But false allegations must not even be portrayed in fiction!

And this is why if you look at all the films and TV programmes made by the mainstream over the past two decades you will find that only a tiny number of them portray false allegations of 'abuse of some kind.

In 99+% of them, the alleged abuser is deemed to be guilty.

Furthermore, of course, when women seek to prevent others from talking about false allegations openly then it follows that they are not concerned about those men who have had to deal with the horrendous consequences of them.

They have no concern at all for what these men have to go through - even though, in fact, these men usually have to undergo far worse trauma than do most women victims of what counts as 'rape' these days.

why on  Earth should men nowadays be concerned about women being 'raped'?

So, given this prevailing attitude towards men, why on  Earth should men nowadays be concerned about women being 'raped'?

Thus, when a woman writes to me and complains about my publicising of false allegations, thus demonstrating her total lack of concern for men who have to suffer from the consequences of such things, then why should I be concerned about her ever being raped?

such a woman is very likely to be a false accuser herself

Furthermore, of course, such a woman is very likely to be a false accuser herself - because, quite clearly, she has no concern for men who are falsely accused.

Perhaps she does not want people to talk about false allegations because she, herself, might wish to make one.

Clearly, she does not care about men having to deal with false accusations, and so she, herself, is very likely to be a false accuser - whenever it suits her.

After all, in her mind, she is doing nothing particularly wrong.

She does not care about the plight of falsely accused men.

... most women care not a jot about men who are falsely accused.

And the horrible reality is that, these days, it seems to me that most women care not a jot about men who are falsely accused.

After all, I certainly do not see them protesting about the way in which men are being treated in this area.

Do you?

Women Never Make False Allegations

Women Never Make False Allegations A veteran Edmonton taxi driver is speaking publicly about a civil lawsuit he filed last year against four young women who falsely accused him of sexual assault after travelling in his car three years ago.

But the camera showed otherwise.

(See some of the video here.)

Four women had lied - because they did not want to pay their taxi fare.

And now, just ask yourself this simple question.

"How many men have had the good fortune to have made video recordings of what their false accusers eventually claimed was an assault?"

1 in 500, perhaps?

Then every time that you read of a story such as the one above - with the taxi driver - wherein a falsely accused man was able to prove his innocence because of a video recording, there will be 499 men who had no such luck.

There was no video recording to save them.

Out of these, some will have lost their friends and their jobs - with their faces paraded in the media - some will have lost their families and their homes, some will have gone to prison, and some will have killed themselves.

499 men.

And even this number only takes into account the 499 men who match a story that reaches your ears or your eyes.

What about those video recordings that saved men from their false accusers but whose stories you never got to hear about? - which, for obvious reasons, will be the vast, vast majority of them.

After all, who wants to admit publicly that they have been accused of sex-assault, even if they do possess a video that proves their innocence.

Perhaps for every such case that you hear about there will be 100 that you will not hear about.

And there will be 499 falsely-accused men for each of those, too.

Cut the overall probability in half to avoid over-egging the case, and you get about 25,000 falsely-accused men who had no videos to save them for every man saved by a video whom you got to hear about.

Sound crazy?

Maybe; but it fits with all the data that I have ever seen.

Also take especial note of the fact that four women thought that it was quite acceptable for them - in full view of each other - to make false sex-assault accusations.

And we have seen this type of collusion between women many times before.

millions - literally millions - of women nowadays believe that falsely accusing men is quite an acceptable thing to do

And this should tell you all that millions - literally millions - of women nowadays believe that falsely accusing men is quite an acceptable thing to do - even though men are damaged horrendously by this.

Indeed, the evidence from many different sources strongly suggests that tens of thousands of men every year are persecuted in some way - with their lives very seriously damaged or destroyed - because of false allegations made by women.
